With the opening of Willow Creek Elementary and recent attendance boundary adjustments, Ammon Elementary School is no longer in operation. Students who previously attended Ammon Elementary are now served by Woodland Hills Elementary and Hillview Elementary.
The historic Ammon school building has been a cornerstone of the community since the 1930s, educating generations of students. While it is no longer an elementary school, the building will soon begin an exciting new chapter as the future home of Ammon Honors Academy.
Ammon Honors Academy is expanding from a grades 7–8 honors magnet program into a comprehensive grades 7–12 academy, adding ninth grade this fall and one additional grade each year until it becomes a full high school. The academy, formerly known as Praxium Mastery Academy, will relocate to the historic Ammon campus in August 2027 following renovations that will include science labs, locker rooms, additional parking, and accessibility upgrades designed to support a secondary school program.
This transition reflects growing interest in Ammon Honors Academy's rigorous, project-based learning model while preserving one of the community's most historic school buildings as an educational facility for future generations. By repurposing the existing facility, the district is able to meet evolving educational needs while honoring the building's nearly century-long legacy of serving the D93 community.
